The Scranton Community Center will be busy Saturday, March 28, with a soup supper and six on six basketball hosted by the Community Center advisory board and Scranton Betterment.
Serving at the soup supper in the cafeteria will be from 5 to 7 pm. Diners set their own price with a free will donation. Proceeds will help pay to transport Scranton children by bus to Jefferson to swim this summer.
The Town & Country Band will begin its 2015 season playing as a pep band in the gym at 5:45. American Legion Post #11 and VFW Post 9599 will provide a color guard at 6:30 pm. Six on six basketball will follow, with the Highway 30 Drifters taking on the Greene County Women.
And, to add to the fun, the half-time will feature the Glidden-Ralston dance team. The evening also includes a trivia contest and a silent auction.
Tickets for the basketball game are $5 for ages 13 and older and $3 for ages 6-12. There is no admission charge for children younger than 6. Tickets will be available at the door.
Proceeds from the basketball game will go to new basketball backboard, hoops and height adjusters in the gymnasium.
